We are upgrading the database in preparation of the coming release of Mastodon

We are preparing for the coming release of Mastodon, it requires several huge upgrades in the underlying software to function.

We are installing the latest version of Mastodon, 4.1.6. For details please see: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.1.6

In the latest minor update of Mastodon (https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/releases/tag/v4.1.5) which we installed Friday night  there was a bug which caused outgoing events to be delayed.

This was fixed with this patch (https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/commit/0078e7e760a94d30ff02e0fc6db11b01311b8b90)

We have now installed the patch and the issue seems to be resolved.

We are upgrading Mastodon.nu to the latest version of Mastodon which includes several security fixes. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon

We will also add one or more webservers to increase the headroom for the influx of new users.

Expect intermittent disruptions of Mastodon.nu during this timewindow, we will update this page with the latest status if something unexpected happens.
